Matthew 5:16 (NIV)
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Biblical Context
Jesus had just told His followers, “You are the light of the world.” Not “you should try to be” or “you might become.” You already are.
Then, He said, don’t hide that light. Let it shine. Why? So people see your good works and give glory to God. In other words, your life isn’t just about you; it’s a reflection of Him.
Reflection
Your platform isn’t just about influence, it’s about impact. Whether you have 50 followers or 50,000, Matthew 5:16 reminds us that your light matters.
So, let your actions speak, your attitude reflect Christ, and your story point to something greater than stats or fame. Even when you feel unseen, God is working through the way you live.
Remember, God doesn’t ask you to be perfect. He doesn’t expect you to have it all together. He asks you to be available. To shine right where you are. Sometimes, the smallest act of kindness can reflect the greatest light.
Application
Today, ask God to show you one way to use your influence for His glory. Whether it’s big or small, let your light shine.
Prayer Guide
God, use my platform to reflect You. When people see me, let them see Your light shining through my words and actions.
Reflect & Share
Look for someone who uses their platform well, points to God, builds others up, and lives with integrity. Encourage them. Let them know their light is shining and it matters.
Compete with Faith. Grow with His Word.
