Business and being an athlete are very similar in the sense that they both are a process. You do not wake up one day and decide you want to be the best and the next thing you know you are there. You have to work, and commit yourself to be dedicated to your craft day in and day out.
As an athlete, things will be going very well, and in the snap of your fingers, things can change to being the worst they have ever been. There is no difference in business.
Here is why I know athletes have what it takes to be so successful starting their own business. Athletes understand that it is not going to be easy to get to the top. Athletes get knocked down over and over, but they get up over and over and over again.
Bumps In The Road
There are going to be plenty and plenty of bumps in the road to get where you want to go. It may seem like the natural thing to do is just to run away and find a more comfortable route. But the safe thing to do is not always the best thing to do.
The world would never advance for the better if everyone played it safe. The key to remember when you finally take those risks is that NOTHING is built overnight. We are often given in public what we have been doing in private for years. Focus on the things you do when no one is watching. If you do the right things in the dark, the light will eventually look good. BUT it is going to take time!
