The human body is an amazing machine; we are made to complete tasks with great precision. We are not infallible however, we make mistakes, we fail, we stumble and we fall. That is the dichotomy of human nature. We are great at the things we do but we are also susceptible to the day to day lessons that are laid upon us.

Failed? I’m glad! You’re learning.

This is a good thing. I’ll bring it back to the thought of failure being frowned upon. That those that fail are lesser humans than those that simply show success all the time. The problem with that thought process is the fact that it is bullshit. Those that only show success are the ones that are afraid to show the true nature of what they had to go through to get to that point. They want to sell you on purely the strengths of their accomplishment rather than show the times in which they had weakness and failed.

To fail is human and anyone that tells you they had some form of linear progression to their goals is full of shit and That person should not be listened to. It is time to be ok with failing. Failing is a not a big deal and is also now the nail in the coffin. No one is forcing you to stop marching forward. You got knocked down. Who cares, get the F*ck up and move. Get after that goal. If you quit on something it clearly was not something that was meaningful enough for you. Your WHY was not strong. Your purpose was not clear.

No purpose? GET ONE!

It is imperative that you are completely clear with where you are going, you cannot know which way to go if you are unsure of the destination. If you do not have a clearly defined why then you will have a muddy path to where you want to go. Not to mention your purpose will not be followed up by passion, action, and will to complete it.  I get that it sounds preachy and ridiculous to those that do not understand what it truly means but bears with me.

If you do not have your purpose completely aligned with your being then how can you expect to push through the times that are tough, when you get knocked down, hit with hardships or simply downright fail? You will quit I guarantee it. That in itself is going to be a demoralizing event. You are wasting your time doing anything but the things that align with a purpose.  That is hard to hear I know, I get it, you need to support your family and you need to get moving forward in your life and the things that align with who you are not readily available. I get it it’s going to take hard work. Persistence and time. And who has time nowadays?

Still Unsure? Get Over It!

But I am going to give you some serious hard love here. If you’re not willing to take a risk on the things you want in this world you are going to be stuck in a mundane, restless, and well useless life. You are made to do the things you love, provide the world with the gifts you have. So get over yourself and get moving in toward your passions. You can provide for your family while moving toward your dreams as well. There are 24 hrs in a day. How you utilize those 24 hours is going to determine the winners from the losers. Again sorry for the tough love.

None of this is novel, I am sure you have read some form or another on these concepts. I get it may sound like a broken record but I believe it was once a said that “anything that is worth doing (or saying) is worth  overdoing, moderation is for cowards”

Made Your Decision? Awesome, Time To Move!

Now that you have to make the decision to get yourself on the right track it is going to take a lot of hard work on your part to remain on the road to “freedom” the road is going to require you to be disciplined in your actions, remain vigilant as well as be willing and ready to take on tasks that are not to suck. It is going to require you to embrace that suck. Enjoy the hardships because they are only going to mold you into the person you really want to be.

You have to love the grunt work of whatever field it is you are looking to enter into. The grunt work is the little menial none glamorous tasks that are the behind the scenes and arguably most important part of this world. No matter what it is you need to get done. The ones that master and enjoy the grunt work are going to move into the “enjoyable” aspects much smoother with a greater sense of appreciation because they have done the hard stuff every single day!

Having A Hard Time Focusing? Deploy Discipline

It is time to get on a routine and deploy discipline against your goals. Discipline is going to be that light that guides you and keeps you on the right track. It is entirely on you as well. You need to make the agreement, no one is going to force you to do anything.

This is all on you that is the beauty of discipline. People can preach and harp at you but in the end, it is your decision whether you are going to do the little things to keep yourself on track, keeping yourself groomed, keeping your wake times consistent, doing the little things every day!

Getting Traction? Stay Humble

Once you have decided upon your purpose, got off your ass, and are on the right track deploying discipline in all forms in your life. You will start to see success but will also see failure but those failures only serve as lessons now on what not to do and allow you to move in a different direction.

What is more important than dealing with failure is how you deal with success. Success is going to come and go but if you let it inflate the ego you are going to become less disciplined and lose said traction. Stay humble. Be humbled by those in the same field who are doing great things. Learn from others. ALWAYS.

Remember to find your purpose, get after it, be disciplined, and stay humble and you will remain on the roller coaster success and appreciate all of its ups and downs along the way!
