PPMatthew 6:4 (NIV)
“…Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
Biblical Context
Jesus was teaching about giving, praying, and fasting. Spiritual disciplines people often did publicly to get noticed. But He said, “Don’t do that. Don’t perform for applause.”
Instead, give quietly, pray behind closed doors, and fast without drawing attention.
Why? Because your Father sees what’s done in secret. And He’s the one who rewards.
Reflection
The best athletes train hard when no one’s watching. In the same way, most faithful believers pray, serve, and grow in private.
Matthew 6:4 reminds us that God sees the work you do when no one else does. You don’t need a crowd to validate your effort. God is paying attention.
He sees every whispered prayer, every quiet act of kindness, and every moment you choose obedience when it would be easier to quit.
That’s the beauty of it: He rewards the hidden hustle, the quiet obedience, the unseen faithfulness that never makes it to your highlight reel.
So, keep praying when you’re discouraged. Keep showing up when it feels unnoticed. Even if no one claps, heaven is watching. And that’s what matters most.
Application
Find a quiet moment today to pray, reflect, or worship. Not for recognition, but to be with God.
Prayer Guide
Father, thank You for seeing me even when no one else does. Help me value private faithfulness as much as public impact.
Reflect & Share
Encourage someone who’s been faithfully serving behind the scenes, someone whose work often goes unnoticed. Let them know you see their effort. And more importantly, God sees it too.
Compete with Faith. Grow with His Word.
