1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV)
“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
Biblical Context
Paul just finished explaining the resurrection, the hope of eternal life through Jesus. Then, he says, “Therefore.” Because of that hope, because of what Jesus did, don’t give up. Instead, stand firm. Keep working. Indeed, your labor for the Lord is never wasted. It matters now, and moreover, it will matter forever.
Reflection
Training without results can feel discouraging. Also, showing up when no one notices can feel thankless. However, God’s Word tells us that when you’re doing it for Him, it’s never wasted.
1 Corinthians 15:58 is Paul’s rally cry to keep going. So, stay grounded, serve with your whole heart, and remember that God sees what others miss. Your spiritual reps matter.
Whether you’re cheering from the sidelines, mentoring a teammate, or living with integrity off the field, it all counts.
Application
Give your best today, even if it feels small. Offer it to God. He multiplies faithfulness.
Prayer Guide
Lord, help me give my all without expecting recognition. Let me trust that You see every act of faith and effort.
Reflect & Share
Encourage someone who’s been faithfully serving behind the scenes. Tell them you see their effort and it matters. Sometimes people just need to know their work isn’t invisible.
Compete with Faith. Grow with His Word.
