Jeremiah 17:9 (NIV)
“The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?”
Reflection
We live in a world that tells us to “follow our hearts.” But Scripture reminds us that feelings, while real, aren’t always reliable.
As an athlete, emotions can run high: excitement, frustration, pride, doubt. But faith isn’t about doing what feels good in the moment. It’s about trusting what’s true, even when your feelings tell a different story.
When you’re benched, overlooked, or injured, it’s easy to spiral into self-doubt. But God’s truth says you’re chosen, loved, and valuable. When you feel like giving up, His Word reminds you that perseverance produces character and hope.
Don’t let your emotions lead you. Let your faith anchor you.
Application
Identify one feeling you’ve been acting on lately. Line it up with God’s truth. What does His Word say about it?
Today Let’s Compete with Faith. Grow with His Word.
