Don’t Miss the Moment – Devotional for Athletes

Proverbs 4:25–27 (NIV)
“Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.”

Reflection
You scroll through your feed and see it everywhere. The rankings highlight reels, athletes going viral. It’s easy to start chasing attention instead of purpose. Easy to want the flash more than the finish line.

But God calls you to something better: focus. Keep your eyes straight ahead. Stay on the path He’s laid out for you. Real greatness doesn’t need a spotlight. It takes faithfulness, day after day, rep after rep, choice after choice. That’s what builds a legacy. Focus honors God. Flash just fade.

Application
Before your next game or big decision, pause and ask yourself: “Will this bring me closer to God’s purpose or pull me away from it?” Let that question guide you.

Prayer Guide
God, give me vision to see past distractions and walk faithfully on Your path.

Reflect & Share
Think about one distraction pulling at you right now. Name it. Then text it to someone who’ll hold you accountable and pray with you about it.

Compete with Faith. Grow with His Word.
