Romans 5:3–4 (NIV)
“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.”
Reflection
Every athlete understands the grind: the early mornings, the delayed results, the small thankless steps that lead to big breakthroughs. Romans 5 reminds us that in God’s Kingdom, these moments are not meaningless-they’re full of purpose.
God uses difficulty to grow something deeper in you: perseverance, character, and ultimately, hope. He’s not just trying to get you through the season. He’s shaping you into someone who trusts Him more deeply.
Your trial might feel like a setback, but it could be a setup for something greater. Don’t rush through the process. Trust the One who’s walking you through it.
Application
Thank God today for one hard thing in your life that He’s using to shape you. Ask Him for the strength to keep going.
Compete with Faith. Grow with His Word.
