Matthew 11:28–29 (NIV)
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Reflection
You’ve heard it a thousand times: “No days off.” “Outwork everyone.” “Sleep when you’re done.” The grind gets glorified. Rest gets seen as soft.
But Jesus says something different. He invites you to come to Him when you’re tired. When you’re carrying too much and feel like you can’t stop or you’ll fall behind. He doesn’t call you weak. He offers you rest.
Real strength is knowing when to pause and let God carry what you can’t. Resting isn’t quitting. It’s trusting that God’s got you, even when you step back.
Application
Carve out 10 minutes today with no distractions. Just sit quietly, breathe deep, and invite God into that stillness. Let him meet you there.
Prayer Guide
Jesus, teach me to rest. Remind me that rest is a gift, not a weakness.
